What could be more of a sign of spring than Helleborus orientalis, the Lenten Rose. They bloom early, often before we have the majority of our customers come through. And that’s too bad, because they are more of a spring favorite than bulbs (for me)! Helleborus is resiliant, long lived, deer resistant and attractive even when it’s not in bloom. What’s not to love? It’s in my top five of reliable perennials. You shouldn’t have a hosta garden without some of these.
